The Solar Envoy

Functions[]

The Solar Envoy seems to use insect-like spacecraft known as Envoy Guards to defend itself and possibly for the purpose of scouting too.

Appearances[]

R-Type Tactics II: Operation Bitter Chocolate[]

Investigating the Sun, the player's Bydo fleet is drawn towards it and discovers the Solar Envoy. An intense battle ensues, the Envoy possessing a massive compliment of defence fighters and a monstrously powerful Wave Cannon with near infinite range. Despite these seeming advantages over its opponents, it is eventually defeated.

Trivia[]

  • Some believe that the Solar Envoy is a 26th century Human space station, as it possibly produces Bydo forces en-masse. Some even believe this station is the progenitor of the Bydo Empire itself, due to its ability to recycle organic and inorganic matter to build new stuff. In its case, Bydo ships. But it is also never explicitly shown that it creates Bydo and this is merely fan speculation as of now.
  • However, it's also possible that the Solar Envoy is actually an alien spacecraft as both it and its guards are described as being completely different to the human race. Furthermore, in Final 3 Evolved, the Envoy Guards are listed as being part of the "Phenomena" family of enemies in the Bydo Labs. There's at least some evidence that they are not Bydo, yet still take an interest in the species.
