The Tentacle Force is one of the strongest Forces currently in use. The Force's tentacles curl forward when flying backwards and open up when flying forwards. When opened, it provides a large shield against incoming attacks. When let loose, the force becomes a formidable AI partner.
It allows the pilot to use the following beams with the appropriate Laser Crystal:
- Red: Sting RAY: A continuous red beam flows from the Force, damaging everything in it's wake. When the Force is open, the beam spans the entire height of the Force; when closed, it's a focused attack.
- Blue: Hound RAY: A pair of blue lasers are emitted from the ends of the tentacles. These lasers fire forwards when the Force is closed and at an angle when it is open. When a beam strikes a target, it will lock onto it and continue to automatically aim at it until the target is destroyed or out of range, or the pilot stops firing; note that sometimes beams will lock onto indestructible objects. Also, it should be noted that having the tentacles spread while firing these lasers presents a shield capable of destroying minor enemies with no danger to the pilot.
- Yellow: Snail RAY: A pair of short tentacles are emitted from the ends of Force's tentacles. These can be manipulated by opening and closing the Force.
When detached, the Force folds into a compact form and "hunts" for enemies, moving to a new position every few seconds. It will attempt to deal contact damage regardless of what the pilot is doing, and fires in the direction it is facing if the ship's Vulcan gun is fired. The force's AI is rudimentary, but can be 'led' to targets; if the pilot fires on one and the force unit is nearby, it will make an attempt to focus its fire as well. However, the basic AI will sometimes need guidance, and pilots may need to recall and then detach the force again to make it focus on a particular target. If the pilot stops firing the Vulcan Cannon for a couple of seconds, then the force will switch to a passive mode and attempt to line up with the R-craft like a normal force. This detached pattern is shared by the Rodless Force, the Flexible Force, and the Flower Force.
- Level 1: The Force fires 1 bullet per shot.
- Level 2: The Force fires 2 bullets per shot.
- Level 3: The Force fires 4 bullets per shot.
