Contrite is a Snake-like enemy that appears as the second mini boss in Stage 1 of R-Type Delta, and the level's remake in R-Type Final 2. It resembles an Outslay, only with a more snake (rather than worm) like appearance, and lacking projectile capabilities.
In R-Type Delta[]
This is the large-scale asphalt crusher developed for urban renewal by human beings, but Bydo invaded its engine unit to change it into a lethal weapon.
Contrite as it appears in R-Type Delta
Contrite is a man-made weapon in Stage 1 as a miniboss who drills into a tall building to surprise pilots (and sending a nearby truck, which can be shot for points, flying into the left edge of the screen) roaring.
It has a drill mounted to its "head", unlike Outslay, and is unable to attack the player in any way outside of direct contact. When the core is destroyed, it roars weakly and explodes.
In R-Type Final 2[]
Contrite, retaining its original name, appears again in R-Type Final 2's remake of Lethal Weapon, now called Crazed Craft. Unlike the original, its garbled cry is heard, before it rises out of a hole in the background, then proceeding to tunnel through multiple buildings, as well as in and out of the road. It is also slightly larger than in Delta.
As was the case with its original, it can be taken out by hitting its core, with the only method of attack it possesses being direct contact with the controlled craft. If one fails to destroy it before the camera turn preceeding the boss, it will fly off after giving out another cry.
