The Chain force is a Force introduced in R-Type Final. It is used by the R-13T Echidna.

Description
The Bydo coefficient was drastically increased in this test model. The laser chain effect was originally for data collection and Force control, and was not supposed to be used in war.
This Force flies ahead of the ship but remains attached by an energy chain, which can also damage enemies.
Red Laser: Alpha Laser - Narrow, continuous laser fires directly forward. Any equipped Round Bit devices will fire smaller bolts which follows the fighter's vertical movement.
Blue Laser: Beta Laser - Laser fires forward, then bends at a 45 degree until on the same vertical level as the enemy, then resumes going straight ahead.
Yellow Laser: Gamma Laser - Two vertical lasers sweep back an forth.
The Chain Force provided the technology for developing the Anchor Force. The chain structure is also found on the Ivy Force.
